EAGLES HUNT FOR NEW BOSS

WOODVILLE-West Torrens is on the hunt for a new chief executive after John Kantilaftas announced his decision to leave the post at the end of the season.

The former West Adelaide premiership player will join TMK Engineering and Project Management as a strategic and business manager after eight years with the Eagles.

"It will be a fantastic opportunity to work with a large corporation," Kantilaftas said.

"I always said seven to 10 years is a sufficient stint as a CEO with a club and it is time for someone else to put their mark on the club."

In Kantilaftas' time at the club the Eagles have yet to miss the finals and they claimed the flag in 2006.

The Eagles will continue their drive for a top-five spot when they take on the Port Adelaide Magpies in a crucial battle at Alberton. After being thrashed by Sturt, the Eagles responded with a crushing 84-point triumph over Central District in an ominous performance.

"The major emphasis at training after the Sturt game was being competitive at the contest," Eagles captain Mark McKenzie said.

Crow Trent Hentschel returns to the side after being sidelined with an ankle problem, while the team has been boosted by the inclusion of Paul Stewart and Mark Passador.

Tom Corbett also has been named in a 23-man squad. Veteran Gavin Colville (hamstring) could not be considered while Matthew Broadbent is required for the state under-18 side.

The Magpies lost Nathan Krakouer and Matthew King to hamstring injuries and named Luke Saunders, Tom Carr, Justin Perkins and Shayne Biacsi in an extended squad.

After successive wins against West Adelaide and North Adelaide, the Magpies will take confidence into battle.

And that growing confidence has prompted coach Tim Ginever to seek more risk-taking play from his men.

"Against West Adelaide our foot skills were ugly but the standard lifted against North," Ginever said.

"This game will be a cracker and it is a must-win for us. The Eagles were in awesome form against the Dogs. They were impressive the way they went about their work."

The Magpies will be hoping on-ballers Daniel Elstone and Steven Summerton continue their outstanding ball-winning form.
