AFL DRAFT BY NUMBERS
Seventy-five new players were added to AFL lists through the 2008 NAB AFL Draft. This is well above the average 63 players drafted each year.
In this year's draft: 39 players are from Victoria (25 metro and 14 country)
16 from Western Australia
13 from South Australia
Four from Tasmania
Two from Queensland
One from Northern Territory Eight of the top 10 Draft selections were 2008 graduates of the Twenty-four players in total were from the AIS-AFL Academy. Eight draftees are indigenous - Stephen Hill, Chris Yarran, Liam Jones, Jamie Bennell, Steven Motlop, Neville Jetta, Michael Waters and Warren Benjamin.
