NAB AFL AUSKICKERS RETURN FROM TRIP OF A LIFETIME

SA AuskickersEighteen NAB AFL Auskickers from across South Australia have returned home to share their experience of playing on the MCG during the biggest day on the AFL calendar, the 2008 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for these children who were flown to Melbourne on Thursday, September 25, accompanied by a parent, where they joined the other 93 NAB AFL Auskick winners to embark on a journey they will never forget.

The trip was kicked off on Thursday with a tour of the National Sports Museum at the MCG before all winners joined NAB AFL Auskick Ambassador Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico at the Official Welcoming Dinner that night. 

The next day the lucky winners took there place in the Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade where they walked through Melbourne’s city, alongside their Grand Final heroes, in front over 80, 000 spectators.

The excitement escalated on Saturday when the NAB AFL Auskickers participated in the Toyota AFL Grand Final pre-match entertainment before taking to the hallowed turf where they played the biggest match of their lives, in front of over 100,000 supporters during half-time of the Toyota AFL Grand Final.

A further four extremely lucky winners from South Australia, were selected to present the winning AFL team with their Premiership medals. 

How did these children get so lucky? Simply by registering in the 2008 NAB AFL Auskick program where they were randomly selected from over 165, 000 NAB AFL Auskickers.
