COMMUNITY FOOTBALL WEEKEND

As part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating 150 years of football, the SANFL has encouraged all leagues across the State to take part in Community Football Weekend on May 9-11.

To help celebrate the occasion, no regular AFL games will be played on Community Football Weekend in a bid to encourage football fans to return to their local clubs.

SANFL Executive Commissioner Leigh Whicker said, “Community Football Weekend sees grassroots football connect with the elite of our game, with over 40 Crows and Power players making an appearance at 24 regional football games around the state, in addition to the four SANFL Rivalry Round matches.

Leagues across the State have also scheduled their own version of ‘Rivalry Round’, complementing the SANFL’s Rivalry Round games this weekend, with local derbies and powerhouse clashes dominating regional fixture lists.

Mr. Whicker said “Wegreatly appreciate the support of both the Adelaide and Port Adelaide Football club players in assisting the SANFL with this Community Football celebration. The key rivalry matches in which AFL players will be present are:
