GLENELG'S MARK MICKAN NAMED SANFL COACH OF THE YEAR
Glenelg's rise to the top of the premiership ladder after the minor round has been recognised with Mark Mickan being named coach of the year.
The SANFL announced the award, judged by the nine coaches, Tuesday at Adelaide Oval.
Mickan said he was humbled to have been honoured by his peers but his focus was on Sunday when the Tigers take on Sturt in the preliminary final.
The victor will take on Central District in the grand final at AAMI Stadium on October 5.
"Right at the moment, without disrespect to the award, it is a minor focus," Mickan said. "At the moment there is such an important event about to happen it (the award) is not something that crosses my mind very much."
