MEDIA CAREER

Geoff was a Sporting journalist at the Adelaide Advertiser Newspaper from 1964 and Chief Football Writer from 1979 – 1989. He was also a part time columnist in 2000.

As testament to his professionalism his colleagues offer the following:

  • Geoff was considered somewhat ahead of his time with a new writing style that added emotion and more “art” into football writing at a time when television and then talk- back radio was stealing ground as to detailing how football was being played.
  • Adept – and a multi-award winner, as either a reporter or feature writer.
  • Commanded the confidence of many football administrators.
