Stanley H. Lewis was Chairman of the South Australian National Football League from 1950 to 1961. To perpetuate the memory of the late Lewis, the League introduced the Stanley H. Lewis Memorial Trophy in 1962. The trophy is awarded to the best performed club across the four grades of the competition – League, Reserves, Under 19 and Under 17. Points are allocated on the following basis:

League win – 100 points
Reserves win – 50 points
Under 19 win – 30 points
Under 17 win – 20 points
